Grilled Chicken Thighs with Lemon Agave Glaze
This is my first experiment using agave nectar and I was very pleased with the outcome. The glaze really picked the grilled chicken up with the sweet and sour flavors. I will be doing more experimenting.
Ingredients:
8 chicken thighs bone in and skin on
Salt and pepper
Glaze, brushed on while cooking
The Glaze:
Juice of 2 lemons
2 tbsp. agave nectar
Directions:
Combine the juice and the agave to make the glaze. Season the chicken with the salt and pepper. Place the chicken on a hot grill with the cover closed. After five minutes brush the glaze on the chicken and keep cooking.
Never turn the chicken over, just cook on one side. If you have flair ups just move the chicken to another spot.
Brush the chicken with the glaze as often as you would like, I did it just about every time I checked to see if they were doing alright.
The chicken is done when the skin is brown and crispy.
I served mine with some steamed broccoli.
We did have an experiment go bad, again. I was also making mashed potatoes using cauliflower. Well let’s just say that I used a little too much milk and I got cauliflower soup. Tasted alright but really didn’t look very appetizing. I will do it again and post the results.
This sounds really simple. Can’t wait to try it!

Thanks for the comment. The Agave is a nectar and comes in a container like honey does. It is a lot thinner than honey and was fairly easy to use. Give the nectar a try.

I use it all the time have been for years. They have flavoured kinds for coffee like english toffee agave, its great. Sometimes I find it hard to cook with and getting the measurements right because it is so much sweeter than honey and sugar, but im not a chef at all.

These look great! We don’t do agave, but I think honey would work perfect in place of it. Thanks for sharing!

Nice simple recipe. We have the agave for cocktails, but we like the flavor so we will try it on the chicken thighs! Thanks.

I have chicken thighs in the freezer, lemons in the fridge, and agave nectar in my booze cupboard… looks like I will be making this tonight! I would be interested to know what recipe you tried for the the cauliflower mash… I have been wanting to make it for a while! Thanks!

Enjoy the chicken. I will be trying the cauliflower mash again this week and will let you know what I find. I’m sure I just added too much milk. This time I will add it a little at a time.
